for FREEDOM ARMS REVOLVERS
FACTORY SPECIAL ORDERS Production of our adjustable-sight M1997s requires a special, non-standard receiver which is nothing more than the factory adjustable-sight M1997 without any of the rear sight machine work. The blank top straps gives us a clean, unform canvas on which to work. Bob Baker and the fine folks at Freedom Arms have graciously consented to help with these projects. However, in order for them to do so, they must run these orders in batches of 12 pieces in order to cover their costs of administration and production. They can mix both rim and centerfire orders which will help. For increased flexibility, it is a good idea to order with the serial number placed on the bottom of the receiver just forward of the grip frame as were done Colt SAAs.
Obviously, it will take a fair amount of time to amass the necessary minimum number of orders for them to run a batch of guns so patience is indicated. This will not be a quick process nor can we crank these out like cupcakes. You will need to order the gun direct from Freedom Arms and take delivery of them through your local FFL, then forward the guns to us. Do not be surprised if a deposit is required. We cannot accept direct delivery from the factory of any guns due to manufacturing excise tax implications. Feel free to contact us with any questions.
Tuning We do not offer trigger/action tuning on Freedom Arms revolvers and recommend that the factory provide this service. Cost is reasonable and the factory can provide tuning on new guns as an option.
Cylinder fluting Due to the extreme hardness of the 17-4 stainless steel cylinder material and the necessity for costly carbide contour cutters for best results, we engage the factory to flute cylinders for us. If you prefer fluted cylinders, our best recommendation is to order them as an option from the factory.
Narrowed Frame Rails Due to the serial number placement on factory guns on the side of the receiver, we can offer this modification only on guns specially order from the factory with the serial number applied on the bottom of the receiver forward of the trigger guard. Please do not ask the factory to move a serial number as they simply cannot accommodate this.
Grips Our custom Freedom Arms revolvers are delivered without grips unless otherwise arranged. We are, however, happy to assist with the procurement of high-quality custom grips for these guns with the understanding that our customers will need to deal directly with the grip makers as to details of material, price, payment, delivery, warranties, etc. Our recommended grip makers are independent craftsmen of enormous talent and all take great pride in their work and independence. They are wonderful people and well worth getting acquainted with, especially as you may eventually need grips for other guns. Old customers often receive preference over new ones in the pecking order of deliveries since some of our grip-making friends are hopelessly smothered in work and must allocate limited resources of time as best they can. We will ship guns on your behalf and charge the usual rates for the service. Since we have no control over the delivery schedules of the grip makers, we will submit invoices with payment due when our part of the work is done. All inquiries about grips should then be directed to the grip guys as we do not have the time and staff to handle such questions.
